With over 39 years in the IT industry, Laurie has developed a broad set of industry related skills and knowledge in sales, delivery, and operations. Laurie started his career with Unisys in sales designing and delivering hardware & software solutions to clients in Atlantic Canada. He then moved into IT Professional Services sales for 20 years and worked with firms such as Synerlogic which was acquired by Accenture, DMR which was acquired by Fujitsu Consulting, SAP and CGI. He eventually became VP Consulting Services at CGI and for 8 years was responsible for sales, delivery and operations management for a business unit focused on Systems Integration & Consulting, Application Maintenance & Support and Infrastructure Managed Services working with clients across all four Atlantic Provinces. As the VP of Sales & Marketing at IMP Solutions Atlantic for the past 6 years, he led a team of Account Executives, Inside Sales Representatives and Marketing resources focused on sales of both hardware/software solutions and services, achieving record sales and profits, and winning several strategic long-term contracts for the company.
Laurie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a Major in both Marketing and Management from Dalhousie University.
As a foodie, Laurie enjoys trying out new restaurants, sampling different cuisines and cooking for friends and family on the weekends. He often combines his love of food with his other passion: travelling with his wife and friends to new and exciting locations. He tries to keep fit by cycling, golfing, practicing yoga and hiking with his dog.
